- Can you introduce yourself in a few words?
Hello, my name is Emad. I come from Egypt. I'm currently an ALU design engineer at SiFive France. I am living in La Ciotat in the south of France.
- Can you tell us about your job?
My job revolves around designing the Arithmetic or Floating Point logic units inside our processor cores that operate with RISC-V architecture.
- Did you enjoy your year in MISTRE Valence Master program? Would you recommend it to future students?
I really enjoyed being a student at MISTRE Master program. The year I spent during that program gave me valuable experience. I was exposed to the French higher education system for the first time, and I got the chance to have my first professional experience at a very prestigious company in the semiconductors industry which is Arm during the 6-months internship which is the 2nd semester of the MISTRE program.
I would definitely recommend this program to students with electronics or computer engineering backgrounds who are interested in the hardware field and seeking an abroad experience.
- What is the greatest strength of this programme according to you?
I believe the greatest strength in the program is that it is more applicable rather than theoretical. Moreover, the reputation of Grenoble-INP - Esisar was an advantage for me when I was applying for jobs.
- What is your best memory from your year in Valence?
My best memory was the day I delivered my thesis successfully, as I was really nervous. I was extremely happy when my professor told me that I delivered a good defence and that I am receiving a high grade.
Thank you Emad !
