Goals

Being able to describe baseband signals, to understand analog and digital modulations, to evaluate the performances of basic modulation techniques, to understand the concepts of communication channels, and to know the specific characteristics of different transmission media.

Content

Random processes
Presentation of the problem in communications theory
Characteristics of the transmission medias:

  • Plane and Spherical waves
  • Transmission lines
  • Optical Fibers
    Signal display baseband
    Analog modulations
    Digital modulations

Prerequisites

Undergraduate degree of mathematics
Basic knowdledge of Signal processing and Probability and Statistics
